Keep your head down

Red-tailed hawks are birds of prey and are great hunters. They love to perch in high places to spot mice, ground squirrels, rabbits, frogs, snakes and insects. They can spot a mouse from a height of a mile. It is widely believed they know a bad golf swing when they see one.

2010 Men's Club Championship Results

Congratulations to Ryan Kennedy (Ryan's Blog) for winning a third straight year of the Men's Club Championship. Ryan and Scott Beaubien battled throughout the final round - both scoring 67's - for a final four stroke win by Kennedy.

Chris Boudreau and Mike Dillon fought for third place with Beaudreau succeeding by two strokes. Website registered members can follow this link for full, final results.

2010 Golf Association of Ontario Intersectionals

The updated schedules for the upcoming Third Annual Intersectionals have been posted on this website under Club General/ Intersectionals. You can find them here. Matches begin August 29, with the final matches being played on September 13. These matches will be enjoyed by 45 men's and 31 women's teams. In total 546 players will participate.

Edwards Ford, Junior Invitational Results

Congratulations to all players, and especially the winners of the Annual Amherstview Golf Club, Junior Invitational Tournament, which was held on June 30, 2010. The Low Gross Field: David Gaylord 74 (won on second playoff hole); Low Net Field: Josh Travis 67. Full results are posted here.

The AGC Tom Turkey Invitational is planned for Monday, August 23, 2010, with 10 am shotgun start. Minimum team handicap must be 75. The $200 entry fee, includes turkey dinner followed by prizes and fun. Call Yvette Carey at 389-5923.

July Greens Keeper Meeting

Greens Keeper meetings take place on the first Monday of each month to inform interested golf club members of work that is scheduled, and get their input. Club members are encouraged to attend these meetings, which are held in the Dining Room and typically last about one hour. Members can read about the July meeting here.
