2010 Women's Intersectionals Results

Last Sunday and Monday, a total of 186 women (which is a 15% increase over 2009) participated in the Investors Group Intersectional Matches at 8 clubs of the GAO Kingston District from Smuggler’s Glen in Gananoque to Oak Hills in Sterling near Belleville. Three divisions were formed with the better women golfers in one, those with handicap factors higher than 18.5 in another while Senior women formed the 3rd division.

 At Trillium Wood, the local women won the A Division. Amherstview making a return in the A Division won at Bay of Quinte.

 The Cataraqui women took advantage of their home turf to win their section of the B Division while Oak Hills did the same in the other section of the B division.

 In the Senior Women Divisions, Garrison came on top playing at Loyalist in the 1st section. At Camden Braes, Picton came out victorious in a hard fought section. Glen Lawrence went to Barcovan to win their section easily. In the final section, Smuggler’s Glen playing at home came out the winner.

KINGSTON DISTRICT

TIES: The highest number of points between the teams tied breaks ties. If still tied, starting with the number one player of the tied teams, whom ever one the match breaks the tie.

WOMEN’S DIVISION “A”

Sections First, Second, Third, Fourth with points earned

  2.  Amherstview 24, Picton 18, Bay of Quinte 18, Roundel Glen 12

2nd place tie broken by No 1 from Picton winning her match against Bay of Quinte after both teams were tied against each other.       


WOMEN’S DIVISION “B”

  1. Cataraqui 30, Briar Fox 19, Picton 14, Garrison 9
  2. Oak Hills 33, Gananoque 21, The Landings 11, Amherstview 7

SENIOR WOMEN

  1. Garrison 23, Loyalist 19, Trillium Wood 19, Cataraqui 11 (2nd place tie broken by Loyalist having 7 points against Trillium Wood 5 points looking at points between the 2 tie teams.)
  2. Picton 20, Camden Braes 18, Briar Fox 18, Roundel Glen 16 (2nd place tie broken by Camden Braes having 6 points against Briar Fox 4 points looking at points between the 2 tie teams.)

2010 Golf Association of Ontario Intersectionals

We are please to confirm with you the final schedule for the third year of Intersectional Matches.
 
We want to welcome Rivendell as the 20th club participating in those matches. Rivendell comes in with three men's teams (A and B and Senior) and have offered to host the new Men's A Division Section 5.
 
Besides those three teams, we also welcoming three new teams in the men's division: Camden Braes and Smuggler's Glen in Men's A and Napanee in Senior Men.
 
In the women's divisions, we are also welcoming four new teams. In Women's A,  Amherstview,  Loyalist and Roundel Glen are three teams who will join five teams from last year.
 
Finally, Bay of Quinte will enter a senior women's team this year.
 
Please take notice of the attached schedule and note some of the changes from the original tentative schedule sent earlier.
 
Hoping the matches will be enjoyed by the 45 men's teams and 31 women's teams. This represents 546 golfers in this event.
